I grew up on my family's dairy, beef and sheep farm in the small country town of Whataroa. The same town that my father (Pete) grew up in some 40 years earlier, where he developed a love and passion of horses.
Pete was very lucky as a young boy to have ponies. While troublesome to some the stories of Pete's naughty little grey ponies are all looked back on with fondness to dad.
When Pete was in his early 20's he fled the bustling town of Whataroa to learn about the world. Lucky for me he stumbled upon Canada and the USA where his love for horses and especially quarter horses grew.

After many years of hearing the stories from our many woofers as children I was itching to get to the USA, so as an 18 year old I headed off to Wyoming. Wyoming is the cowboy capital of the world, and one of my absolute favourite places on earth. I was lucky enough to spend a summer helping out at the Allen's Diamond 4 Ranch, with the altitude of ..... The Allen's have a pack ranch which consists of long mountainous rides taking horses into the Wind River Mountains for holiday exertions, climbing, fishing and hunting
